Quick start

Start tomorrow morning

Chapter 1 of 9 · 3 min read

You do not need to read the whole guide to get started.

For the first 21 days, you will follow five simple morning rituals designed to support your circadian rhythm and help regulate cortisol, the hormone that influences energy, focus and stress throughout the day.

This works through consistency, not intensity.

The first two rituals are simple, but the role they play is often overlooked. They are the foundations everything else is built on.

What to do tomorrow morning

The goal is to signal to your brain that the day has started and rehydrate your system after sleep. Your circadian rhythm is set primarily by light exposure and hydration timing. Get these right and energy, focus and sleep quality begin to stabilise naturally.

1. Light exposure, before phone exposure

  • If it is light outside: open the curtains and go outdoors for 2–10 minutes within 30 minutes of waking.
  • If it is still dark, as on winter mornings: turn on your main bedroom light as soon as your alarm rings. Ideally a bright, cool daylight bulb, 5000–6500K.

2. Drink water before caffeine

  • 500ml of water as soon as possible after waking.
  • Before coffee, tea or food.

The rest of the guide explains why these work and how to layer the system over time. The beauty of these two is that you can action them right away.

You are probably already doing them. These small tweaks to how and when you do them make all the difference.
